Who we are
The Teresiana University Residence, traditionally known as Lar Teresiano, is a female university residence that has been in Coimbra since 1937. Known in the academic world as "Teresianas", for being guided by Teresiana sisters (Companhia de Santa Teresa de Jesus), who live the spirituality of Saint Teresa of Jesus.
We belong to the great Teresian Family, spread over several countries in Europe, America and Africa, which has Saint Teresa of Jesus as teacher of life and spirituality, and Saint Henrique of Ossó as founder and source of inspiration, in the mission of educating and accompanying young men and women, in their personal and community processes, offering them vital and meaningful experiences. In a familiar, welcoming, serene environment they are able to discover God's project in their lives, develop their capacities and be agents of social transformation.
Where are we
We are on Avenida Afonso Henriques, in Coimbra, close to University Poles I and III, but also to University of Economics, Penedo da Saudade and the historic city center. On Avenida Afonso Henriques, you will find Ritz and Avenida Cafés, High School José Falcão, Pérola Supermarket and Nazaré Pharmacy.
There are public transports, which pass outside the Residence: buses 6 and 37. On Santa Teresa Street, buses 4, 103, 42T and 33 pass next. Along Arcos do Jardim, buses 34, 24, 2 and 5. For more information on schedules and ticket purchases, you can consult the website www.smtuc.pt.
